Every group at SWAT is coached by certified coaches working under the direction of our Program Director and Head Coach, George Loomans. Around twenty coaches work with roughly a hundred athletes.

What makes the program unusual is continuity: your athlete is assigned to a coach for the whole season, matched by age and skiing ability. Occasionally an athlete or a coach is moved to better match a group of similar skill, particularly in the entry-level programs, but the intent is that a group stays together from December to February.

We also hire part-time coaches who assist during the holidays and fill in when a regular coach is unavailable.

We consider training entirely our responsibility, and we ask coaches to stay in regular contact with the parents of the athletes they train. Talk to your child's coach before or after training whenever you want to.
